The Corporation of the City of North Bay is currently accepting applications for the temporary Summer Construction position of Tandem Truck Driver/Snowplow in our Roads Department. This role includes completing reports, performing circle checks, and carrying out minor equipment maintenance and adjustments. Under the direction of the Roads Supervisor, the successful candidate will operate snowplow trucks and transport various materials as part of year‑round road maintenance operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent acceptable experience.
- Must have a minimum of one year experience in operation of a single operator truck over 18,000 GVW.
- Must hold a valid Ontario class “D” driver’s license with a “Z” endorsement.
- Must have a good driving record.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the operation of a tandem truck.
- Construction experience in road maintenance, road grading, ditching, storm sewer installations and traffic control will be considered an asset.
